Paradise Lost ? Line 1-3 Who is Christopher Columbs? How did Columbs think of the rainforest ? Columbs was an Italian-born Spanish navigator who sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean in search of a route to Asia but achieved fame by finding the South America mainland. He thought it was most beautiful and quite different from that in Europe,with flowers and fruits,and little birds singing sweetly.
