The results demonstrated that 174 DNA fragments were amplified, among which 169 DNA bands were polymorphic (PPB=97.1%). Genetic similarity coefficient ranged from 0.4713 to 0.8621 in those varieties, with an average 0.6299. Nei’s gene diversity(He) and Shannon’s information index were 0.3793 and 0.5563 at the species level respectively. Which has proved that the Lonicera japonica varieties has a wide genetic base and a high genetic diversity. The cluster analysis presented that these resources were divided into three main groups using the unweighted pair-group method with arithmetic average (UPGMA) based on ISSR molecular marker data. So, ISSR markers can be effectively used to evaluate the genetic diversity of honeysuckles, thus providing a theoretical foundation for the identification and classification of honeysuckle cultivars, and for the efficient application of their germplasm resources.
