Redefinition of the ÷Longshoushan Group outcropped in the eastern segment
of Longshoushan on the southern margin of Alxa Block: Evidence from
detrital zircon U- b dating results

Abstract: A suit e of low-g rade met amorphic sediment ary rocks, exposed in Huashikoujing area of east ern Long-
shou shan, w as originally regarded as t he Paleoproterozoic ÷Longshoushan Group . Detrital zircons from tw o
low- grade met amorphic sedimentary rocks yielded ages ranging from 0152 Ga to 3156 Ga, similar t o the age
spect rum of the rock f rom neighboring Cambrian Dahuangshan Group. T hus, t he m et amorphic sedimentary
rocks w ere probably deposited in t he middle- lat e Cambrian period . A total of 129 concordant dat a w ere obtained
from t wo sandstone samples from Huashikoujing area and a sandstone sample fro
