Study the relationship between Diabetic Retinopathy and Xulaoganxue Specialty: Ophthalmology of Traditional Chinese Medicine Author: Li Man Tutor: Prof. Liu Ling Abstract Objective: To analyse the relationship between diabetic retinopathy and Xulaoganxue by studying the symptoms and physical sign of diabetic retinopathy victims and fundus changes,and makeing use of concept of wholism and treatment based on syndrome differentiation in traditional chinese medicine combining with modern image analysis of fundus. Methods: 1.Clinical investigation and survey.To investigate the symptoms and physical sign of diabetic retinopathy victims and add the score they have scored.2.Fundus changes.Study the relationship between diabetic retinopathy and xulaoganxue by analyzing the change of microaneurysm, haemorrhage, exudation and neovascularization, measure the specific position of retinal vessel calibe and calculate their specific value. Result:Symptoms of Xulaoganxue have to do with the course of diabetes mellitus and diabetic retinopathy, and do not have the relationship with the level of blood sugar .The higher the score is,the clearer the fundus changes are.Vein calibe of Periphral vein in moderate nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy is wider than normal retinal vein.Retinal vein at the edge of optic disc who has obvious retinal hemorrage is thinner than that of normal. Conclusion:Diabetic retinopathy has the Symptom of Xulaoganxue,and diabetic with generaldisease also has the symptom of Xulaoganxue.Blood stasis is exists in periphral vein in diabetic retinopathy .There may be have denutrition of collaterals when diabetic retinopathy patients a
