Corrosion current density of X70 steel was most influenced by dissolved oxygen concentration in simulated solution. With pipeline of 4 000 km in length, the project crosses lots of areas, and passes the salty soil area. The Kucerle soil is one of typical types of wilderness salty soil in western China. The soil solution was assumed alkaline, and the salt content was high[1]. Hence, the pipeline steels were easy to induce pitting corrosion, and initiated the stress cor-rosion to failure.
