On Cultural Transmission in English Listening Course Abstract: In English teaching, we not only analyze the language points for the students, train the students, ability of using language, but also reinforce the transmitting of cultural background. Because we do not know cultural background well, we can not learn English well. Language is a part of the culture. So, if we don’t know the pattern and criterion of culture, we can not master a language. Especially in English listening class, Listening comprehension has a close connection with a person’s understanding of culture, politics and economy in English-speaking countries. In fact, judging a person’s listening comprehension is a comprehensive examination of a person’s English level, cultural knowledge, his or her ability of analysis and imagination. Key words: culture; Cultural Transmission; English listening course 论英语听力课教学中的文化传递 内容摘要：在英语教学中，我们不仅要讲解语言知识，训练语言运用能力，而且还要加强有关的文化背景知识的传授。因为我们不掌握文化背景就不可能教好语言。语言是文化的一部分，因为，不懂得文化的模式和准则，就不可能真正学到语言，特别是在听力课中，听力与对英美文化、政治、经济等情况的熟悉程度有着密切的联系。判断一个人的听力，实际上是对一个人的英语水平、知识面、分析及联想能力的综合检验。 关键词：文化；文化传递；英语听力课程 Language learning is not an isolated process of learning. Any language is used in a form of speaking or writing by people who live in special community in special context. At the same time, a certain language is always relevant to nations or countries where this language is used. In addition, other factors (such as history, culture and society background and so on) also have an effect on the development of this language. As a result, in English teaching, we not only analyze the language points for the students, train the students, ability of using language, but also reinforce the transmitting of cultural background.
