While hermetic motors are inherently cooled much more effectively than open motors (i.e. operate at much lower temperatures), the motor is now cooled even more efficiently than ever before. This more efficient motor cooling reduces motor heat which, in turn, reduces electrical slip (the difference between the speed of the rotor and the synchronous speed of the motor).
