Advan * 郝玲Pets Nowadays, keeping a pet becomes more and more popular . A study shows that more than half of the households in the United States have a companion animal. That includes dogs ,cats, rabbits and other small animals. Nonetheless ,when it comes to pets, different people still hold different opinions. Do you like pets? Why do people like to keep pets? There are so many reasons for people to keep pets. What are they? Advantages Some people ,especially pet owners, insist that pets do more for us than we often realize .For children, they are good players. They can not only cultivate children’s sense of responsibility but also inspire children’s active curious natures. For the elders who are easy to feel lonely ,the pets can keep them company. What’s more ,more and more studies are showing that people who have pets are healthier, both physically and mentally, than those who don’t. Pets are increasing being used in the therapy for the elderly . Disadvantages The others hold the opposite view. They regard pets just as common animals. They think that only human beings are capable of feeling the emotion of love. Pets can not touch their hearts. To be worse, pets are easy to spread the disease. Dogs and cats are most susceptible to carry rabies virus(狂犬病毒)。 In my opinion I am for the first view. Besides the obvious things, like being cute and interesting to watch, pets bring me much pleasures. On my childhood, my mother once bought a little gray rabbit for me as a birthday gift. During the two month I spent with her, I tried my best to look after her well .I think not only I love her ,but my little friend love me in return. When something disturbing happened ,I didn’t want to say any words ,I preferred to stay with her . She would stand still on my legs and touch me gently with her two big ears. … Pets are people’s good friends! Thanks for watching! *
