Our material comfort and lifestyle depend on advances. The first aim of this unit is to help us understand how science has become so important in our lives by examining some key scientific findings and famous scientists. This is the safeguard for the accuracy of scientific results. These stages are introduced in the pre-reading while the reading passage is written as if it were stages in such an experiment.
