Model－Use to specify classes of options from which you customers can choose when ordering configurable items. Planning－Use to specify items that belong to the same product line(product family). * * * Model Bills of Material The two types of model bills of material are Pick to order－Your customer chooses options and you ship the components for customer assembly. Assemble to order－Your customer chooses options and you assemble the components before shipping. You don抰 build model assemblies;you final assemble a configuration item on a final assembly schedule. You can assign planning percentages to the components and use model bills of material for aggregate forecasting. * Departments and Department classes A departments is a collection of resources designed to do certain tasks.Departments are also called work centers. A departments class is a collection of departments. Resources,Departments and Shifts. You must assign a resource to one department,and you may share that resource with other departments. You can specify the times for your shifts in the workday calendar.When you assign the resource to its department,you specify the shifts that the resource works. Capacity Changes A capacity change is a temporary change to the available capacity of a resource-for example,work on a specific Saturday.You shoul
