Asking for and giving personal information, e.g. name, age, birthday, address, favorite color, pets, etc.
Activity AWrite the question ‘How are you?’ on one side of the board and an answer on the other side. Next, elicit different ways to answer. Write them on the board and add any common replies that may be missing.
Example Answers:
Fine/great thanks.
Not bad.
Im good.
Ask the students to stand in a circle. Explain that you will be practicing greetings, and that each student must say something different than the student before them. Greet one of the students and wait for their reply. Prompt the student to greet another student, and make sure the second student uses a different reply from the first student. When a student has successfully both greeted and responded, they may sit down. Continue until each student has had a turn.
Have the students write some of their responses in Activity A in their books .Activity BDraw the outline of a cloud on the board. Inside the cloud, write some personal information about yourself. Don’t tell the students what the numbers and words represent
For example: name, age, address, birthday, telephone number, favorite color, pets, etc.
Note: Use false information about yourself if it is not appropriate to share personal details with the students.
