Abstract Based on the data and information from on-the-spot surveys supported by FA0，the thesis describes status quo about Qidong marine fishery,and analyzes quantitatively its contribution to regional economic growth wi廿l some theories of industrial structure．111e internal and external factors infiuencing Qidong marine fishery are also discussed in the thesis．At last． counter-measures and strategies are given to further develop Qidong marine fisheries economy． 111e study shows that the marine fishery iS the major part of fishery in Qidong． Although mariculture has developed very quickly in recent years．marine fishing is still the leading industry of marine fishery in Qidong．Along with the development of marine fishing and mariculture，marine products processing industry have got a fast growth，and the export-oriented economy has been improved in the last few years．However,lags are obvious in such service fields as technology consulting，information service and fishermen organization，which means the services industry still Call’t meet the social needs．The studies also show that much work remains to be done in order to develop recreational fishery． Although marine fishery iS not the leading industry in Qidong．it really plays a positive role in such fields as solving social employment and made great contribution to regional economic growth．According to estimation．its average annual contribution ratio to Gross Output、，alHe of Industry and Agriculture iS 1．65％．which owns 8．79％of growth rate of Gross Output Value of Industry and Agriculture．Howeveq many problems to hinder further development of Qidong marine fishery are still remained．In inner of fishery industrial structure，extensive fishing efforts and too many stow net fishing vessels are affecting seriously the sustainable development of marine fisheries． On the other hand．the industrial contradiction of marine fishery iS serious． The low-level industrial structure and intemal relevancy,similar industrial structure．smal
