The reading text, The Fun They Had, is a science fiction story written by Isaac Asimov, an American writer. Do you know what a science fiction refers to? Science fiction is a type of writing in which imaginary future developments in science and their effects on life are described. Science fiction writers are interested in making the world see the changes in our lives caused by the development of science, so it is regarded as a way to explore how society may change as science develops. The Fun They Had suggests the writers views about how education may change in the future. It may serve as a good basis for a discussion about how technology may change our future life. Youve got to get through it. About the author Isaac Asimov(1920–92) the author of the text, is an American biochemist and author. He was born in the former USSR on January 2, 1920. He was taken to the United States at the age of 3 and brought up in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Columbia University in 1939, and got his Ph. D.in the same university in 1947. He taught biochemistry at Boston University, but he is most widely known for his science fiction.
