Unit4 Behind beliefs Grammar and usage2 Teaching aims: After the second session of ‘Analysis of complicated sentences’, the students will be able to use proper subordinators and coordinators to combine simple sentences together. With the exercises of translation and multiple choices, they will be able to analyse complicated sentences and complete them with proper subordinators and coordinators. Teaching procedures: Step 1 Revision and checking homework 1. Check homework Part C1, on Workbook P127. Revise the subordinator used in attributive clauses. 2. Check homework Part C2, on Workbook P127 Revise the subordinator used in adverbial clauses, nominal clauses and attributive clauses. Step 2 Practice of coordinators Fill in the blanks with suitable coordinators: (and, not only … but also …, neither, nor, neither … nor …, either … or …, but, yet, still, however, while, when, for, so, thus, therefore) 1.
