module 5 Look after yourself! Unit 1 Betty:’m tired,Mr Jackson. Mr Jackson: Lets wait for the others. Theyll catch up in a few minutes. Lingling:Who’s missing?Mr Jackson:Tony and Daming.’re always at the back of the group. I thought we had an agreement to stay together. Lingling:They were walking more slowly than us. Mr Jackson:I think its going to rain . Ill go back and look for them. Tony: Help Its Daming. He’s had an accident. He fell over when he was running down the steps. He’s hit his head and his leg hurts and I think hes broken his leg. Mr Jackson:When did he fall? Tony: About 10 minutes ago. Mr Jackson:OK, show me where he is. There he is Hey, Daming . How do you feel? Daming:My leg hurts, and I’t see very well. Will I go blind Mr Jackson:’ve just hit your head, youve cut your knee, too. Theres blood on your leg. Can you move your foot? Daming :Yes. Ouch! But I cant walk. Mr Jackson:We had better get you to hospital. Ill call for help on my mobile. Daming s it serious? Will I live? Mr Jackson:Of course will! It’s nothing serious. Tony, tell everyone we have to call off the walk and go back home. Unit 2 Five rules for a healthy life Thanks to better health care, most people are living healthier and longer lives. Someone who is born today can expect to live about 35 years longer than someone who was born in the 19th century. Its even thought that in the future more and more people will celebrate their hundredth birthday. Here are five rules for a healthy life. 1.Get off the sofa! Sure, its comfortable to sit on the sofa and watch TV. But doctor say you should get off the sofa. To keep fit you have to walk at least 10,000 steps every day. In the past, Peoples jobs required more physical effort. They often have to walk for miles everyday. When farmers were working in the fields, they were keeping fit at the same time. Think about it: do you get the same amount of exercise today as they did in the past? 2.Eat healthy food! Its important to eat food
