Shock wave is a compressional wave whose stress (or pressure), density and temperature in the wave front changed suddenly. Shock can divided into three categories:positive shock waves, oblique shock waves and cone shock waves. There are many factors in nature that can cause shock, such as lightning, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. These shock caused many serious natural disasters for human which can brought loss. For example, when earthquake happen the crust may be torn by shear force. The sudden release of the gathered strain energy cause several kinds of waves spread in the interior of the earth and the ground. The life of living beings are threatened by the trembles of the earth and the collapse of the buildings. Not only natural force can produce shock, but other shock waves can produced beside us and affects human life. For example, when a modern supersonic plane flying with a speed which is 2 times than the speed of sound in the height of 15 kilometers,the overpressure will produced on the ground. the head and the tail of the airplane may produced cone shock wave on the ground and shaped as horseshoe. The shock produce a kind of annoying roar. So people around the world are affected by shock not only on their life, and some even threaten their safety. With the invention of gunpowder, bombs and nuclear weapons, the human also learned how to release the increasing amount of energy in the increasingly short time. The strength of the shock waves is unimaginable, and a small nuclear war will become the world’s biggest disaster. Of course, shock wave also have good aspects to life.
