The first part of this paper will summarize the content and characters of the novel with a simple outline. In the second part，it will analyze the literary connotation and era background and the cultural characteristics of the White Deer Plain in details. The third part of the paper will conclude the novel’s era significance at that time and for this age. This paper takes the White Deer Plain written by Zhongshi Chen as the object of study. It starts with the connotation and background of the novel and the analysis of characters. And combined with reliable literature and data， it illustrates analysis the connotation and literary significance of the novel. This paper aims to explore era significance of the White Deer Plain and show the learning outcomes of humanities classics reading courses， and hope to provide certain reference value for the future study of this novel as well.
