It was divided into three parts basing on each parts contains: Feng, Ya and Song. Feng, the folk songs from 15 kingdoms, contains 160 works in total; Ya, the music used by the Royal and government, contains 105 works, which was divided into Da Ya and Xiao Ya; Song, mainly the music for the sacrifices of ancestors, contains 40 works. With the reflection of different aspects of the social lives at the time and the beautiful words, Classic of Poetry has high significance in literature and social-reality. The theme of todays presentation, The Reed, is selected from Odes of Qin in Feng. Odes of Qin, as one of the 15 parts in Feng, are the folk songs of the Han People living in Qin district. As one of the Kingdoms at the time, Qin is located in todays Shanxi province, which has tough environment and people with simple and brave temperaments. And this character of the area was reflected in literatures. There are 10 works in Odes of Qin. The poem depicts a man in love who was pursuing his love, mans persistent spirit of love shown.
