Subject: International Training Workshop on Breeding Technology of Horticultural Crops September 14-27, 2009, Beijing. P. R. of China Dear sir: Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), mandated by the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology of China will host above training workshop from September 14-27, 2009 in Beijing. Scientific researchers, technical personnel, extension workers and government officials engaged in field of breeding technology of horticultural crops will be invited to attend this workshop. Preference will be given to qualified candidates from developing countries. On behalf of the organizer, I am pleased to extend my cordial invitation to your administrative personnel and scientists who are involved in the fields of breeding technology of horticultural crops, to participate in this workshop. I would greatly appreciate it if you could draw the attention of the aforementioned workshop and to encourage them to submit nominations. English is the exclusive language in this training workshop and no interpretation provided. Fundamentals, applicable technology, new trends and advancement on breeding technology of horticultural crops will be imparted through lectures, technical visit and practice. The Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology of China will certify participants who have successfully completed the courses. The return airfare from the home country to Beijing and local transportation expenses from the Airport or the Station to the Venue in Beijing will be borne by his/her government or agency. The Ministry of Science and Technology of China will pay the cost of hotel accommodation (double room for two participants) , meals and local transportation during the training for participants from developing countries.
