This road is three times as long as that one. This road is three times the length of that one. This road is three times longer than that one. Our school is four times what it was five years ago. The room is twice/double larger than that one. 2. every two hours 每隔两个小时 every表示“每隔”时构成的短语： ① every+基数词+复数名词 The American people elect a present every four years. ② every+序数词+单数名词 He comes to see his uncle every third week. ③ every other+单数名词，表示“每隔一….” Write on every other line. ④ every few+复数名词，表示“每隔几…” Trees should be planted every few metres. 3. watch out 注意，当心 Watch out! There’s a car coming. watch out for sth. 小心某事 Watch out for the stairs---they are steep. 同义短语： be careful , look out 4. 否定词和比较级连用，往往表达最高级的肯定意义。 ---What do you think of our school ? ---I couldn’t find a better one. 5. discount n. 折扣，减价 vt. 打折扣，减价出售 These goods will be sold at a discount. That store discounts all its slow-selling goods. 6. the+比较级，the+比较级。 越…，就越… The more you eat，the fatter you will be. 在上下文意思清楚时，可以只用两个比较级，省略后面的句子。 The more，the better. The higher，the better. 中
