图表作文的类表格(Table)
2) 圆形图(Pie Chart)
3)曲线图(Line Chart)
4) 条形图/柱状图 (Bar Chart)
四六级当中的图表作文目的在于:1)用文字描述图表,客观解释图表中所传递的信息,并找出某种规律或趋势;2)就图表中所反映的某种趋势或问题分析其原因或后果。Key point: find out the correlations among items.
Writing procedure for CET6/ EEGS:
1. Analyze the graph/picture/chart to find correlation among items.
2. In the first paragraph, depict the picture by picking out the main figures that can best present such correlation. Make sure that you hit the nail on the head.
3. In the second paragraph, you are supposed to list or explain the underlying factors that give rise to such correlation or phenomenon.
4. Draw your own conclusion in the last paragraph/ make prediction towards future/ propose suggestions.
Note: graph compositions in CET 6 and EEGS are different from that in ELTS. Make the former two types exposition or argumentation with appropriate description while the latter a descriptive essay only.
For ELTS:
1. Point out the main elements/messages of the graph.
2 Describe the table/graph to demonstrate similarity, contrast and other regularities among items with relevant figures.
3 summarize the main regularities of the table/graph.

(1)Educational Pays
The above bar chart clearly shows us education pays in 2010. We see that one with higher education background earns more money weekly than those with lower ones. For instance, the college students with no degree get paid$712 per week whereas those with a Bachelor’s degree can earn $1038.
Several reasons, in my opinion, can be identified to account for this phenomenon. To begin with, compared with those with comparatively lower education degree, people who have received higher education possess considerably wider knowledge, more remarkable learning and research ability, greater innovation and most of all, resourceful social network, all of which are essential to a high-income work.
