COURSE DESCRIPTION AND GOALS:
This course is designed as an introduction and overview of the rapidly expanding field of Research Method in Education, and is intended for seniors who are expected to have interests in understanding technique in education. The extent and type of research required in undergraduate programs in education vary in countries worldwide. However, in practically all such programs, there are some research requirement, including participation in research activities, for the successful completion of the program. Therefore, a knowledge of research methods, or at least of basic concepts of research methods, is not only useful, but essential. Much of the professional education literature addresses research results. Educator should be familiar with the research results in their specialty areas.
COURSE EXAMINATION GOAL
According to the difficult level of test, the examination goals of knowledge are divided into four aspects:
A. Memory: Some basic professional concepts should be learned by students’ hearts.
B. Understanding: Some research procedures and techniques should be grasped by the students skillfully.
C. Application: Students could learn the procedures of some research types, such as survey research, quasi-experiment research etc. and could design some research according to everybody’s interests.
D. Analysis: Students must analyze some research statement, review educational literature, and evaluate the design etc
