Transcript: BETTY JUNOD: Hello partners. My name is Betty Junod of part of the end user computing product group. And Im here today talking about the VMware Horizon launch. Its a very exciting launch that we have in the Q1 of 2013, starting off the year with the bang. And we have lots of great products in the launch. So let me just get started. * Transcript: So one of the reasons why were doing all we are doing in end user computing is at the pace and rate of change in end user computing is faster than ever. And as you can see from these statistics here, theres lots and lots of trends of increasing shipments of new platforms, lots of different types of applications. Meanwhile, steady shipments year over year of the existing PC, existing Windows environments. So what does that mean for your customers? * Transcript: This means that IT at your customer sites has to manage a much more diverse end user landscape. * * * Transcript: And this causes a whole host of problems creating new tiers of challenges for IT. And what weve found that is that we can bucket them into three main categories-- one being IT resource constraints, the need to do more with less, more with the same people, or find a way to reduce overall operating costs. The second is security and compliance mandates. These are just the list of things that organizations have to do. There really is no choice whether they need to be software compliant, or HIPA, or PCI compliant. Those are regulations that they must adhere to. And finally there are these category of workforce and/or business transformation initiatives. Youve probably all seen these. As people bring their own devices to work, want to use things like iPads, really transforming their workforce. All of that combined with the different trends that youre seeing really creates a big mess for IT organizations. Transcript: So what are we trying to do with VMware? Were trying to create the right strategy for customers to help simplify this problem. And ho
