Lawler, Commissioner Division of Career Services Date: May 19, 2005 Subject: MERLOT, MLE, and CRUG MOSES Workgroups ___________________________________________________________________________ Purpose: To provide background information for the Commonwealth’s workforce partners regarding the mission, current membership, and general meeting schedules of ongoing workgroups related to service and operational improvement of the state’s workforce management information system, MOSES (Massachusetts One-Stop Employment System). Background: Following the initial implementation of the MOSES, several standing workgroups were convened to review a variety of operational and/or procedural aspects of the system and to formulate recommendations for improvement. Three workgroups continue to meet on a regular basis and include members who collectively represent the career centers and partners. Membership in each workgroup is intended to be geographically reflective of all workforce areas. The groups are: MERLOT (Massachusetts Employer Relations Learning Opportunity Team), MLE (MOSES Local Experts), and CRUG (Crystal Reports User Group). The work done by each of the workgroups has contributed to the continued improvement of MOSES. It is important to maintain the overall vitality of each of these workgroups in order that local vision and experience continue to drive the overall improvement process to the benefit of our customers.
