As the pace of life is accelerating day by day, the rational distribution of public transports stops is becoming more and more important. This system is for selection of sites for public transport station/stop in Tangshan City using the ArcGIS Engine as the secondary development platform in C# development environment. It is a system for selection of sites for public transport stations/stops in Tangshan City based on the map Tangshan which achieves the functions of buffer zone analysis and position checking and the auto-generation of station/stop sites according to the differences in population densities. It can make the selection of station/stop sites more reasonable. The completion of the system will make the expansion of public transport stations/stops more rationalized and provide assistance to city management. It is therefore necessary to develop the system as that with proper functions and friendly interfaces which meets users’operation habits in selection of sites for public transport stations.
