The protestors say the factorys pollution is causing cancer. The local government has held New York-listed Jinko Solar Holding Co responsible for discharging toxic water. The pollution has killed large numbers of fish. The company claims rumors that dozens of people had contracted cancer because of the firm are false. A man has been detained for spreading the rumors on the Internet. The factorys waste disposal system has been failing pollution tests since April.
