On basis of regional economics, industrial economics and innovation economics theory, the paper establishes multi-linear function of ability of innovation and FDI, uses the empirical analysis and comparative analysis, analyzes FDI effects of the Changjiang River Delta and six provinces in central region to its ability of innovation from the patent applications indicators and indicators of high-tech industry respectively. The results show that, in two indicators, FDI are the promotion of innovation capability in the region. But the effects of different regions are different. On the base of difference between two regressions, analyze its causes, and then make relevant policy recommendations.
