* Before using the Oracle WMS Rules Engine to determine a put away suggestion, Oracle WMS checks for backordered sales order lines that could be fulfilled by the incoming material. If an eligible line is found, the user is prompted to put away the incoming material directly to an outbound staging lane to immediately meet backordered demand. This flow avoids the unnecessary material handling and processing of storing the material in a storage area before moving it to the outbound staging area. If only a partial quantity of the material being put away can be used to fulfill a sales order demand, the user will be instructed to put that quantity away to outbound staging, and the Oracle Rules Engine will determine an optimal storage location for the remainder of the incoming material. * * The following are features that will be included in the first release of the Oracle Warehouse Management System * * * In a manufacturing system, there may be two distinct lifecycles that occur for a product. The product lifecycle is the progression the product makes from its initial conception and design through to obsolescence. The material lifecycle is the progression that material within your warehouse from the point it is received to the point that it is shipped or useless. The material lifecycle may also include exceptions that happen during the time material is in your warehouse, including holding, marking as defective, or reworking. Current functionality fully supports modeling a product lifecycle within Oracle Applications. However, the ability to model material lifecycle is limited. Material Status will improve upon that functionality, offering the user a great deal of power and flexibility in controlling for modeling the material lifecycle and material exceptions. * These are four example statuses that businesses might use to control material in their warehouse.
