Where considered essential, and their use approved by the Purchaser (or when directed by the Drawings), the following shall apply: (a) Permanent rat-holes shall be cut by automatic processes and ground smooth unless otherwise agreed by the Purchaser. Permanent rat-holes shall have a radius of 50 mm or twice the plate thickness whichever is the greater. Where rat-holes of these dimensions would jeopardise structural integrity, the Purchaser may require them to be less than 50 mm radius.
