Impression of the Author Jane Austen I love two ladies named Jane about foreign literature. One is the heroine of Jane Eyre, the other is the author Jane Austen. Jane Austen is one of my favorite authors. Besides me, she has been attracting millions of fans from all over the world for centuries, though she only wrote six novels all her life. It’s amazing that she lived her entire life as a part of a small family located on the lower class of English gentry, and she was educated primarily by her father as well as what she read. She must have observed the society rather carefully so that she could make simple surroundings so vivid. In fact, that is what I admire a lot. I think if we can manage this skill, our life will be much more colorful. My Feelings of Pride and Prejudice When I was a senior 3 student, I watched the movie Pride and Prejudice for the first time. At that time, I had to study hard to prepare for the college entrance examination. I was very nervous and under great pressure all the time. However, the scenes of the movie were beautiful and the plot was neither scary nor fierce. So I watched it again and again, and it could always refresh me. In a sense, it is like a Korea soap opera! Now, after I read the book, the feelings become even stronger. How grand Pemberly is and how enjoyable their life is! (I really envy them.) To enrich the content, there are many interesting characters. For example, Mr. Bennet, a bookish and intelligent man somewhat withdrawn from society, likes making a fool of his wife. To make things funny, Mrs. Bennet is a frivolous, excitable, and narrow-minded woman, and the business of her life is to get her five daughters married. I guess the heroine Elizabeth Bennet and the author Jane Austen should have many characteristics in common: intelligent, lively, attractive, witty, and independent.
