Amsterdam Philadelphia: John Benjamins. 1.1 Nature of the research This paper is part of my efforts in working out a model or framework for analysis of discourse in terms of metaphor and promoting a discursive turn in the study of metaphor and a metaphorical turn in discourse study as well. 1.2 Connection with my previous work This is one of a series of papers centering around the discourse function of metaphor.
