A Thesis Proposal for BA Degree A Re-creation Approach to Translation of Ci of Su Tung-po Department of Foreign Languages School of Languages and Communication Studies Introduction Ci，as a special form of literature to convey emotions and feelings, occupies a significant position in the history of Chinese classical literature. The favorite of Ci was deviated from banquet and dance to natural scenery during Tang and Song Dynasty, one of the most talent poets during that time is Su Shi, who has been regarded as the greatest versatile poet of the Song Dynasty. In Chinese literary history, Su Shi, together with his brother Su Zhe and his father Su Xun, accounted for three of the“Eight Great Prose Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties”. As Lin Yutang says, there had to be one Su Shi, but there could not be two. Once Su Shi himself said, “The happiest thing in my life is to write down what I feel in the heart and think in the mind, and I think there is nothing happier than that in human life.”(我一生之至乐在执笔为文之时，心中错综复杂之情思，我笔皆能畅达之，我自谓人生之乐，未有过于此者) While writing, he would project his personal feeling into the person he describes and this projection reflects a personal wish to move beyond the individual world and embrace universal value, that is to say, he would transcend time and space.
