What are the volunteers doing? In today’s passage, we will come to an Australian volunteer named Jo, who helped teach the poor children in a mountainous village in an island country Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the Pacific Ocean Part 1 (1): opening of the letter 1. How long did it take before Jo received Rosemary’s letter? a fortnight (two weeks). 2. What is Rosemary eager to know? all about Jo’s life in the village in PNG. Part 2 (2-3): the school and Jo’s work there 1. Why does Jo call the high school a “bush school”? Because the classrooms are made of bamboo and the roofs grass. 2. Were the boys friendly to Jo?
