ATLAS 2000 DEFINITION OF TERMS AND ACRONYMS ABBET An acronym for A Broad Based Environment for Test which is a standards activity for test of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) under the auspices of Standard Coordinating Committee 20 (SCC20) whose efforts are to lead to the creation of a family of standards intended to create an open test environment. AI-ESTATE An acronym for Artificial Intelligence and Expert System Tie to Automatic Test Equipment. A standards activity of the IEEE under the auspices of the SCC20 to define the software interface of artificial intelligence and expert systems to systems test and diagnostics. ATLAS An acronym for Abbreviated Test Language for All Systems which is a test language standard maintained by the IEEE under the auspices of SCC20. The ATLAS language is a standard abbreviated English language used in the preparation and documentation of Test Procedures or Test Programs which an be implemented manually or with automatic or semi-automatic test equipment. ATLAS Application Set The collection of ATLAS 2000 Core, Primitives, Normative Annexes and Application Frameworks to satisfy a given user or user communities testing needs. ATS An acronym for Automatic Test Systems which includes the ATE as well as all support equipment, support software, test programs and interface adapters. BNF a) Backus-Naur Format.
