Teaching aims:
1. Teach vocabulary words.
2. Target languages:
What if you could combine other animals or plants to make something new?
3. Train the speaking and listening abilities.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Free talk
Do you like to mix your food together when you eat? What things do you like to mix together?
What animals or plants do you like best? Why?
What animals would you like to combine? Why?
Step 2. Presentation
Put up a picture with combined animals or plants. And ask do you think it is possible? Can you say something about this picture? Do the same with other pictures.
Step 3. Let’s learn the words from the tape. Listen to the words in this lesson for several times. Ask the students read after it and imitate. Ask some students to read the words loudly in class.
Step 4. Listening
Listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
What animals does Danny want to combine? Why?
What about Jenny?
Ask several students to answer and check the answers.
Step 5. Read the text silently. Then let the students read the text in class. After a while, ask some studen
