Management Systems Line management is responsible for deciding the capital/purchase expenditures for mechanical handling equipment and ensuring their compliance with safety management systems guidelines for design, procurement, and installation. A master list of all such equipment shall be submitted to Safety Dept. and Filing Center. Supervisors shall communicate with employees on health and safety information that is relevant to specific job tasks and the work site. Function leaders shall ensure that effective methods are used to identify and evaluate potential health and safety hazards in planned or existing facilities, including facilities to be modified. Preventive maintenance and housekeeping programs are required to maintain the safety of facilities, tools, and equipment. Required aisles and passageways for materials-handling equipment shall be maintained with proper clearance, safe, clear of obstructions, well marked and in good repair.
