The figure of speech is a kind of means which deviates from the general and the main meaning of a word. For a writer, the text will be more vividly if he uses the figure of speech properly. Whereas, for an English learner, he should not only understand what is the figure of speech, but also should remember the exact spell of the professional language. This paper introduce the definition about simile, quasi-simile, metaphor, synecdoche, irony and personification by some analysis of the rhetoric device in English literature. Meanwhile, the author will discuss the ways to remember the professional language according to her own practice.
