Unit 1 The fight against air pollution With the development of the technology, pollution is becoming more and more serious all over the world, especially air pollution. The earth has been seriously polluted by harmful smog. There are many reasons for this case. Factories, domestic appliances and automobiles have made the air unhealthy for people to breathe. But factories are the major source of air pollution. We all know that there are a lot of factories around the world, they are actually emitting chemical noxious gases everyday. Since we have only one earth, we must do something to protect it. First, we will appeal to the government to close down or modernize some factories giving off waste air. Then, the government should move factories out of the region. Last, we should plant more trees, which will make our air fresh. I think people will be happy with the measures taken by the government. Choose the best university Going to university after graduating from high school is the wish of every middle school students, and it is considered as one of the most important steps in one’s life. But there are thousands of universities or colleges, how to choose the best one? That has been a big problem all the graduated students have to face. Some students who had done well in senior high school may be addicted to games or watch movies all day when they go to university. Of course , they perhaps hang out along the roads in school without any destinations. But why they changed from good to bad. Someone might say because they used to believe that they can and should enjoy life in University. But I think, it may relate to the rules or the environment of the University which they had chosen.
