ABSTRACT:Energy saving, comfort, and adaptability to various ecological requirements have been becoming key issues in the field of air conditioning equipment and systems.Hitachi has developed and established a suitable size range of the rotary type, and centrifugal type compressors, which are the most essential parts of air-conditioning equipment. This is largely in response to market demand for more highly efficient and smaller sized units.By utilizing micro electronic technologies, the inverter-driven air conditioners, which offer constants room temperature and other comfortable functions, were developed .Hitachi has also developed a cool/heat individually changed-over multi-split system air conditioner in order to meet modern office building requirements. In consideration of worldwide ecological issues, Hitachi has taken on the challenge of solving waste disposal problems. Introduction Today, most buildings are being equipped with air-conditioning facilities. This trend has resulted from the requirement that the living or working space must be as comfortable as possible. Because building design is becoming more varied, air-conditioning system requirements are also diversifying. This paper explains the technical trends of recent air-conditioning systems, especially focusing on the so called packaged type(unitary type), and in addition clarifies Hitachis policies. Technical Trends of Air-conditioning Equipment Hitachi is developing air-conditioning components and systems, in order to meet the fundamental requirements of energy saving ,comforts, and versatility.
