Knowledge aims:

--Mario used to be short.
--Yes,he did.Now he is tall.

--No,I didn’t.
Ability aims:
1. Enable the students to talk about appearances and personalities.
2. To train the students abilities of using target languages to communicate and use them in writing.
3. To train the students skills---listening, speaking,reading and writing.
Moral aims:
1. Never judge people by their appearance. People sure change with the growing time.
2. Let the students understand others in their communication and know how to appreciate others.
3. Cultivate the students’ abilities of co-operation with others.
Cultural awareness:
People in different countries have different behaviors at different ages.
Learning strategies:
1.? ?Give students some instructions about self-study by giving them some preview assignment.
2. Enable the students to describe appearances and personalities by comparing.
3. Students learn to cooperate with their partners.
教学设计:
由于学生在七、八年级已经学过一般过去时态,具有了学习本单元知识的基础,能自然地与本单元进行衔接。本单元的核心话题为“talk about what you used to be like”,谈论自己和他人过去经常做的事,谈论自己和他人过去的外貌/性格/爱好。根据这一情况教师对教材进行整合、取舍并及时扩充必要材料,设定了这个教学目标。
在学法指导上通过观察图片、听力理解等训练方式和独立学习、合作交流、完成任务等形式完成目标语言的输入,学习句型“used to” 为主要学习任务,通过对于前置性作业的完成,培养学生自主学习的习惯,并且设置任务型综合性语言实践活动,让学生在交际活动中,学会如何正确地用英语表达自己的意见和建议,重在培养学生的习得语言运用能力、实践能力、合作能力及创新意识。
