Researches of HVAC Systems Using a Neural Network You Xiang, Chengdu University AbstractControl methodologies could lower energy demand and consumption of heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and, simultaneously, achieve better comfort conditions. However, the application of classical controllers is unsatisfactory as HVAC systems are non-linear and the control variables such as temperature and relative humidity (RH) inside the thermal zone are coupled. Recently，some new controller which based on using a neural network has been studied by some scientists. Here, we will introduce some new work in this field. Key words HVAC systems;neural network Introduction The heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are responsible for more than 50% of energy consumed in buildings [1] and any improvement can result in lowering demand during peak load periods of the day. Design of energy-saving control strategies for HVAC systems has gained attention. An effective HVAC system control strategy adjusts controllable variables for effective energy use.A schematic diagram of a typical HVAC system is shown in Fig. 1[2].
