Project Summary A. Location At least five high-risk coastal communities in Alaska, to be determined in consultation with the Alaska Division of Community and Regional Affairs, Alaska Coastal Management Program staff, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE), the Denali Commission, and affected coastal districts. Preliminary findings indicate that Kivalina, Shishmaref, and Newtok are likely to be high-priority target communities for the first studies. Other communities that are less well-studied will also be evaluated as potential targets.
