Abstract Language is a means of communication, and listening is an indispensable part of communication. It is also considered as one of the most difficulties to conquer for students learning English. With the development of modern English teaching, more and more educators have pointed out the practice use of listening comprehension so that they pay more attention to developing the students’ listening ability in their English teaching. What’s more，listening takes about 30 percent of the total marks in students’ middle school entrance examination. As a teacher, we should try our best to provide our students with lots of listening skills and useful ways to improve their listening. ? Key words: listening ,?ability , skills , improve
