Period 1 (Unit 7 BII) Warming Up Listening Speaking
Aims:
Check students’ knowledge about HIV/ AIDS.
Talk about attitude toward the diseases.
Develop students’ listening and speaking abilities.
Teaching Procedures
I. Warming up
Get the students to answer questions on P49.
Talk about the pictures on P49
II. Listening
Answer the questions in Part 1 to gather basic information about what Jane’s job is and how she works.
Take noted of what is heard in Part 2 and use the notes to tell a partner about what Jane has said.
Apply what has been learnt by imagining that they were a disease detective who had been asked to investigate a new disease.
III. Speaking
Group work
Each ole discusses about one social problem.
Report after the discussion, trying to persuade other group that your problem is the most serious one.
Learn to use the useful expressions in the report.
