Since corporations work within the framework of bureaucracy, which definitely contains its merits and demerits simultaneously, what unfolds in front of us is that corporations undoubtedly mark themselves with advantages and disadvantages as well. Thus, the topic of corporations embodies a series of questionable beneficent gestures when they claim they care about the environment, respect labour rights and maximize the social wellbeing, etc. However, there is always a stream of anti-corporation activists, fiercely unveiling the nature and attacking the running of corporations, among whom many are expertise, analyzing the various evil aspects of corporations; therefore, depicting us a vivid illustration of the nature and strategy of corporations. Here come two opposite views represented by Sir Mark Moody-Stuart and Dr. Samuel Epstein respectively. To begin with, I’d like to present a brief biographies for the two giants in their fields. “Sir Mark Moody-Stuart is Chairman of Hermes Equity Ownership Services, a director of Accenture and of Saudi Aramco. He was Chairman of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group from 1998 to 2001. He was Chairman of Anglo American plc from 2002 to 2009. Born in Antigua, Sir Mark received his doctorate in geology in 1966 at Cambridge University and worked for Royal Dutch/Shell starting as an exploration geologist, living in Holland, Spain, Oman, Brunei, Australia, Nigeria, Turkey, Malaysia, and the UK” (Council Member Profile). “Following a doctorate in geology from Cambridge University, much of Mark Moody-Stuarts working life has been with Shell, largely working in countries outside of Europe.
