He was from Daoxian County,Yongzhou,Hunan.He was the son of He Linghan who was a minister. He was a student of Ruan Yuan who was famous as a writer, after finished his study, at first he was assigned a job which was responsible for sorting out data, collating books etc. at Hanlin academy .And then promoted to be the minister of education of Sichuan province. He was proficient in history and language. Besides, his calligraphy, both seal character and clerical script, was perfect. What’s more, he could absorbed merits of those authoritative calligraphist like Ouyang Xun and his son, Li Yong, Su Dongpo and Yan Zhenqing. Each type of calligraphy, he gained skill from simulating characters of famous calligraphist. With some practice, he became very good at different size of character, even more he could engrave them. He was known as the The first person of Qing dynast’s two hundreds year. This article tries to analysis the causes of his genius calligraphy. We will state the reasons from its background, style of writing, writing instruments etc.From this statements, we hope our readers not only will know more about him, but also can acquire some skills of calligraphy.
