Module 3 My First Ride ON A TRAIN Reading and Vocabulary Analysis of the teaching materials This period is Made up of two parts, that is Vocabulary and Reading .In Vocabulary, some new words will be given to the class to check their meaning.In Reading part, students will learn how to read a passage effectively and some new words using some reading methods. In this section four activities are designed to help the class to better understand the passage. The first activity aims at helping students to get the main idea of each paragraph, the second activity aims at helping students to understanding the key information of the passage and the third activity help them know some important details of the passage and training their reading ability. After reading, students are asked to listen to the passage and fill in the blanks with some key words they have heard. Analysis of the students The students have previewed the material. So words will not be so difficult,which helps them use some reading skills to understanding the passage better. However, using correct skills to read more effectively should be more or less difficult for senior one students. Teaching aims Knowledge aims: Make students know some words and phrases related to travel on a train. Make students know something about Australia. Make students understand some important sentences. Ability aims: Practice to improve their reading skills. Individual work and pair work to make every student work in class. Train students’ hearing ability Emotion aims: Through the study of this period the students will understand more about Australia and broaden their horizon.
