Focuses(教学重点): 1、Vocabulary and structure: 2、Students’ ability to analyze the structure and summarize the main idea of text. 3、Cultivate students’ ability to discuss and cooperate with each other to solve the problems. 4、Guide students to learn from the Sparky and deal with failure and defeat positively. Difficult points(教学难点): 1、How to use the vocabulary properly. 2、How to analyze the structure of text and grasp the main idea. 3、How to improve students’ reading ability, discuss and cooperate with each other to solve the problems. 4、How to guide students to learn from the Sparky and deal with failure and defeat positively. Procedures(教学步骤): Step one(第一步) Lead In(导入) Do you know these stars? 1、Give the students some minutes to discuss the stars in the picture. 2、Match their names with the photos and tell their occupations. Step two(第二步) Pre-reading Tasks: 1、From the pictures, try to guess the relationship between Charles M.Schultz and Snoopy and get more information about Charles M.Schultz by completing a profile. 2、Try to guess what the story is about. Step three (第三步) Analysis of the Structure of Text: 1、Read the text as quickly as possible, finish the comprehension excises part A on page 128. 2、Summarize the text with one or two sentences. 3、Ask students to divide the text into three parts according to three key words and three questions I provide. ① School: what is Sparky’s performance in school?
