Thus, basic design(基本设计) includes the selection of ship dimensions, hull form(船形，船体外形）, power (amount and type), preliminary arrangement of hull and machinery, and major structure. Proper selections assure the attainment of the mission requirements such as good sea keeping performance(耐波性能), maneuverability(操纵性), the desire speed, endurance(续航力，全功率工作时间), cargo capacity, and deadweight(总载重量).
