This yearI’m going to Shanghai instead.去年夏天我去北京, 今年我将要去上海。instead of /doing something.是动词加介词词组，意思为： 代替， I will go instead of you. 我将代替你He stayed at home instead of going swimming.他呆在家里而不是去游泳。 3）unless除非，如果不等于“if …not”本身就表示否定，引导条件状语从句，主句为将来时，条件状语从句用一般现在时表示将来。 ：My baby sister doesn’t cry unless she’s hungry. =My baby sister doesn’t cry if she isn’t hungry.if … not。如：可以说If you weren’t always in such a hurry, your work would be much better. 不说Your work would be much better unless you were always in such hurry. 4）afford 常与can, be able to 连用: Can you afford a new car? 你买得起一辆新的小汽车吗？can’t /couldn’t afford to do something can’t / couldn’t afford something意思是： 支付不起…如：I can’t/couldn’t afford to buy the car.
